Washington March 24 The Imperial German training ship Charlotte will dock in New York on April 38 with a crew of naval cadets led by Prince Adalbert the third son of the German emperor. Born July 14 near Potsdam he joined the army and navy early and holds lieutenant rank aboard the Charlotte. The voyage includes 40 cadets and mirrors other fleet ships. Prince Adalbert will have officer freedoms ashore.
Prince Adelbert will accompany his party and be presented to the president and his family. New York society and other elites will have a chance to influence the emperor William’s visit if ship officers accept hospitality ashore.
A Southern Railway passenger train No 38 was derailed by a landslide near Charlottesville Virginia, killing a Pullman porter and an unknown tramp. Charleston W V I March 22 A surprise announcement from W T L Wilson secretary treasurer United Mine Workers of America says a strike would likely be called soon by 35000 miners in the Virginias and adjacent districts. He noted a conference between operators and miners may occur soon with representatives from Kanawha New and Rik River districts present.

Huntington Ind March 2 A1 Teaver declares he saw Wrank Rly Tiegers a year old missing child whose parents have launched a search. Teaver says he met the boy in the Brie yards near Huntington and spoke with him several times as the child was making his way toward Chicago. He recalls the boy’s features and believes the encounter occurred at the yard site.
Mrs Mary Greenite recalls her husband George Green revealing he was not a man and must keep the secret. After 35 years together she learns the truth and forgives him praising his character. The couple never lived as lovers but as brother and sister until his death. He left a cotton plantation and other property to heirs. The widow is tearful at public revelation and burial occurred in a Catholic cemetery.
