Moscow dispatch reports martial law in Warsaw amid riots and mass Jewish exodus. A patrol was fired upon in the old Protestant cemetery, killing twelve. Troops refused to fire on civilians, and a regiment was moved. Death toll from the outbreak exceeds 1,200 with 343 Jews and 218 Christians buried and over 700 wounded.
In Warsaw on June 26 disorderly crowds clashed with police and soldiers. Barricades were built on Ogrodowa Krochmalna and Wronia streets with red flags, Cossacks charged at Zelazna, and a patrol was fired on in the central market where a boy was killed and three wounded. Five striking workers were stabbed. 200 people were arrested as heavy rain kept further clashes at bay. 34 infantry battalions and Cossacks fill the streets as the government moves to restore order. The socialist party and the Jewish Bund vow to continue the fight.

The case appears amicable with Silas H Strawn present for H H Donnelly. about 250000 in grain stock and bond dealings are cited. Whitney for the firm says impact on major exchanges will be limited as collateral backs each trade. R H Donnelly says no one will be harmed financially but provides no reasons for the failure.
Indianapolis June 26 changes following S P Sheerin’s death were approved by directors of the Indianapolis Telephone and New Long Distance Telephone companies. Louis Hollweg, formerly vice-president, became president of both firms while H B Sale, formerly secretary treasurer, was elected vice president and general manager. Hollweg had long been associated with the companies alongside Sheerin.
Attorney L. L. Morris filed three condemnation suits yesterday at Bluffton to secure right of way for the Fort Wayne Bluffton Marion Traction company through the Kirscher Paxton and Gibson farms near Ossian.
In Chicago on June 26, about 150 subordinate secretaries of the United Commercial Travelers association gathered for the first annual meeting in seventeen years. Clinton Ind June 26 Last summer Freeman Barcus was killed by a train at Cayuga. Mrs Barcus sued William Moore a Cayuga saloon keeper for 2000 damages alleging he sold whisky to her husband who became intoxicated and unable to care for himself and died. The case has been continued and last Saturday the suit was compromised with Moore paying 250 dollars and all costs.
Indiana news from Michigan City reports R J Kruger a member of the town police commissioners resigns after Governor Hanly asks for his removal He says he enforced laws rigorously is not in sympathy with the governor puritanical ideas and is weary of nagging yielding to the governor’s demand.
President Roosevelt departs Washington by special train to Cambridge for Harvard University commencement. He will not return to Washington and will spend the heated season at Oyster Bay. Accompanied by Loeb, staff, and press, he is joined by photographer Stromeyer and Isabel Hagner. Count Cassini, the Russian ambassador, bids him farewell at the station.

The Commercial Travelers' Mutual Accident association at its annual meeting in the Claypool hotel changed its name to the Indiana Travelers' association. Officers elected include President Charles B. Howland and Vice President Charles A. Ross with Carey McPherson as secretary treasurer. Directors Jefferson Baxter, Joseph H. Stubbs, PB Trone and FF Fox chosen for two and a half years. Future annual meetings will be in January instead of June.
Jefferson City dispatch reports Governor Folk said Missouri National Guard or St. Louis police will raid the Delmar race track gamblers within 24 hours. He noted section 14 of the charter grants city and county authority. Police chief Kieley and Police Board President Stewart discussed options by long distance, with militia ready if needed to enforce the anti gambling law.
In St Louis on June 26 the Central Turf association members deserted the Delmar track betting ring after the anti betting law took effect June 17. Sheriff deputies seized the ring before race one with Charley Cella arrested on a $1 000 bond for violating the law. Most members fled and did not return. Officials say the race program will proceed tomorrow but doubt wagers will be attempted.
In St Louis on June 26 no official betting occurred after county officials arrested two members of the Central Turf Association just before the first race. Betting that did occur was among individuals. J P Mayberry, regarded by many as top horse, won the fourth race, the program's best contest.
Stamford Conn June 26 Herbert Beardsall eighteen accidentally shot and killed his companion Edward Rush son of Edward Rush of Pelham Manor N Y today. In fright he ran into the woods and was later found dead, having killed himself with the same weapon.
In Painesville Ohio an inquest into the Lake Shore wreck at Mentor began this afternoon before Coroner York. Railway officers testified and several other witnesses are listed to help clear up the matter.
