Children’s Day observance at Butler Church

A Butler Church Children’s Day program was held on a Sunday morning during the regular preaching hour. The church was gaily decorated with flowers and honors, and the children presented an excellent program after many hours of practice. Steeple Jack Falls at Bellewton in Near Fatal Accident

Bellewton Ind June 16 Jack Muwking a roof painter fell thirty five feet last evening from the elevator at H C Arnold Son while painting. He sustained severe injuries to a hip and back and his condition is serious. He dropped after the rope slackened. No witnesses to the fall and he lay for some time before being found.

Singleton to report at Norfolk Virginia

Chief Quartermaster A. H. Singleton, who ran the local navy recruiting station for two years, is ordered to report at Norfolk Virginia on June 28, preparing to leave the city. He will be superseded by Chief Quartermaster F. J. Keough of Newport, BR TL, who recently arrived in the city. Lightning strikes Milford home injuring one person

A Milford residence was struck by lightning this morning, damaging a portion of the house and injuring a resident who was asleep inside. Fire crews responded quickly as neighbors reported a loud crack and a scorched doorway near the hall.
