Corner Stone Laid for New Lutheran Church in Allen County
The cornerstone of a new Wayne- and St. Pauls Lutheran church in Burton township near Fort Wayne was laid yesterday in a large outdoor ceremony. Rev Edward Gievernicht spoke in German while Rev Willan Moll delivered the English sermon. The edifice, costing about 23000, aims to be one of the county’s largest and handsomest outside Fort Wayne, with contractor William Schnar and architect J M B Rivdel. The congregation, over 50 communicants, traces roots to early Lutheran settlers and Emanuel Church in the city.
