Judge grants discharges for two Bluffton individuals

Federal Judge Anderson signed discharges for Bantl ey and Jodyn Lichtenberser of Bluffton. A harmless runaway on Mast Berry Street involved a horse belonging to Henry Altenau, no injuries reported. An Elks Lodge meeting plans a special train to Detroit for June 14. Reverend Thiele returned from Whiting after visiting the Sacred Heart parish. Fort Wayne volunteer firemen survivors to meet for the upcoming Volunteer Women’s convention on June 30. Charles McCulloch of Hamilton National Bank will preside at the next Fort Wayne meeting. W E Mosaman heads to Memphis for lumber interests and a new mill project. A still alarm at Dr J W McCausland’s home on East Wayne Street reported a straw fire in the basement shared by the family dog.

Prof H S Gilhams to Teach at Howe

Howe Indiana June 9 Prof H S Gilhams has been engaged as superintendent of schools here for the coming year. Gilhams previously served five years as local superintendent and last year headed Tem City Schools. He has been county superintendent of Lagringe County and is regarded as a strong school man.

Wedding in Brooklyn as bride glows in duchesse gown

No Smallpox Cleared In Fort Wayne Amid Scarlet Fever Rise

Fort Wayne public health board announced the last smallpox cards were removed, declaring the city free of the disease. Two new scarlet fever cases are reported, widening the epidemic. Scattered illness includes a Culvert family member at 2012 Phillips Street and a Kach family member at 2210 Force Street.
