Twenty new freight handlers were employed last week at the Pennsylvania freight house with twenty more likely to be needed this coming week. About 150 freight handlers are currently on staff, many foreigners resigning annually to return home. Clara Smith and Elizabeth Prange of Wayne Knitting Mills sewing department have resigned to marry. Miss Smith will wed Earl Thompson, a paper dancer, next Saturday and Miss Prange will marry James Ryan on Monday June 17. Grand Trunk Firemen Receive Pay Increases
The Grand Trunk Railway raises pay for its firemen from 2.00 to 2.70 per 100 miles to a new range of 2.15 to 2.50 per 100 miles with increases of 10 to 20 cents. Monthly rates rise from 57 to 74 dollars to 70 to 80 dollars.

Foot Tragedy in Railroad Yards Near Muncie
An unidentified Roumanian laborer for the Big Four Railroad was killed in the Muncie yards when his foot caught in a frog and a freight train backed onto him. His body was cut to pieces. He was about 45 and had only recently arrived. no witnesses and no known family.
