Members of the Wasrae sewing club entertained Tuesday evening at the Twilight cottage in Winona Stra. Hostess Fred Henry served dinner at six, then guests enjoyed a moonlight boat ride on Winona lake. Also noted, good horse races will be held at the driving park Saturday afternoon, June 10 with 25 cent admission and free grandstand.
Ligonier notes a Smalley-area farmer dies from injuries after his horse reared, with burial planned for Friday. The death follows the incident at Hotel Goldsmith while staying in Geteloci. Also mentioned is Ligonier painter L Flowers suffering a stroke while dressing, currently unconscious, and Miss Freda Lynn visiting Goshen for commemoration exercises with Miss Freda Wysong, Goshen high school graduate.

Friends of Charles Lemon report he was married to Mies Bic in New York City at the home of his sister Mrs G. C. White. The ceremony occurred while Lemon has been in New York for several weeks. The couple plan to reside in Kendallville, Indiana.
Dr Cr W Burkat injured after falling down basement steps at Winona drug store in Warsaw Indiana. He suffered bruises and cuts but is not seriously hurt and remains around.

West side residents of Routh Harrison street accuse the board of public works of bias in garbage removal after six weeks of complaints about uneven pickup. They say east side crews clean alleys while west side waste remains uncollected and urge action led by W. F. Peckham and others.

June 1 report from Cleveland says a large garment workers strike will be long and bitter with a national aspect. The International Garment Workers' Union backs the workers, while outside manufacturers are expected to provide aid to Cleveland’s bosses. Leaders claim about 6,000 workers, 95 percent of the city’s garment workers, joined, including several hundred nonunion. The manufacturers’ association cites fewer than 4,000. After a downtown parade, strikers met to plan district actions and shop picketing.

P Morton Squires of the Indiana Jewelers Retail association and family visited D J W Squires on West Main. The council finance committee and Home Telephone and Telegraph company discussed a 7 percent franchise tax on gross earnings, with questions over whether it taxes city gross or overall holdings. Courts may be asked to interpret the franchise if no agreement is reached Tuesday night.
