Operators and Miners Fail to Agree on Wages in Ohio

Fire damages two Peabody area homes in storm event

In Burville county near Peabody a home was struck by lightning Thursday evening igniting draperies but the fire was put out by the family with no injuries. At the Charles Streets residence lightning damaged the roof and spouting water runoff caused tin catching. Family members suffered only minor injuries and insurance will adjust damages.

Lepper Golden Anniversary Marks 50 Years in Allen Co

Mr and Mrs A J Lepper celebrate a fifty year marriage at Seest Luther Church ten miles southeast of the city. The couple have lived in Fanthorpe Kansas for thirty years.
