At a board of public works meeting Dennis McCarthy submitted his resignation after serving as clerk to the board of public safety, park commission, and the other board. The council refused extra funding so McCarthy will not be retained for all three roles and the city may pay extra stenographer costs. Plans for a new sewer project alley work were approved amid health concerns about Frank Jeeley. A remonstrance was filed against a street vacation involving Wesleyan street and Cottage avenue as Western Reserve works were discussed.
The Fort Wayne Academy of Medicine held its pentannual meeting at the Wayne Club rooms last night. Dr James W. McCaskey presented a paper on The Relation of Diseases of the Gast ein festival System to Condition of Hypertension, delivered before the International Medical Association.
