Auto Thief Abandons Car at Winona Lake

At Winona Lake near Warsaw Indiana a Ford auto was found abandoned after a theft incident. Scholtell, a Warsaw resident and Reid Murdock salesman, said the car had likely been left near the rear administration building and fled the scene. Bowers to Be Taken Away Next Monday

Columbia City Indiana July 2 Grover Bowers, convicted by a jury of highway robbery and sentenced to fourteen years in the state penitentiary at Jeffersonville, proclaims innocence. He says Hapner, the friend, acted as his alibi and will serve his time. Bowers, twenty nine, in good health, has a history of shady ties and a tendency to be convicted in recent years. He will be taken away next Monday by the sheriff.
