Rev Winfield Scott Gandy of Churubusco died Saturday evening at St. Joseph hospital after a serious operation. Born July 1, 184%, in Preston County West Virginia to Scottish Irish parents, he taught, studied law briefly, and served as a teacher, lawyer, and United Brethren minister. He organized Churubusco graded schools, served as justice of the peace, and leaves widow Emma D. Gandy, three sons Clyde M of Phoenix Anna and Merry D of Vista, siblings and multiple half-siblings.
