Klingenberg er Visits During Short Furlough

J M Klingenberg, now serving as clerk in Company E 113th Engineers, visited his former associates in Chief Hobrock’s office yesterday. Son of J Klingeneberger, foreman of the Pennsylvania cab shop, he has gained twenty pounds since enlisting and is spending a brief furlough with his parents.

Brown Trucking Co loses valuable horse in accident

Brown Willie, the most valuable horse in Brown Trucking Co’s stables, was fatally injured yesterday after a wheel barrow toppled during coal loading spooking the team near Grand and Harrison. The pair bolted into the Wabash freight house. Willie suffered two broken legs and was shot. The other horse had minor injuries and the dead animal valued about 3200 dollars.

Fort Wayne worker heads to Fort Benjamin Harrison

A worker, previously with the General Electric Fort Wayne works, leaves today for Fort Benjamin Harrison to join the infantry after a long military record in the Spanish American War and service with General Leonard Wood in the Philippine insurrection. The plant reports 3000 Red Cross members, near 100 percent participation, with many departments flying the Red Cross flag. Several Pennsylvania shop workers are listed as sick or off duty, and staff changes include new hires and transfers within the Pennsylvanian and boiler shop areas. The Wabash line moves the Flora Belle group to Huntington.
