Chicago December 4. Lawyers for the state in the trial of Attorney Charles E Erbstein on charges of jury bribing stated late today they would close their case to a narrow margin. The revelation followed juror Grant McCutcheon’s confession to accepting a bribe his wife and daughter testified. McCutcheon, corroborated by his wife and a witness, said he hoped to prove Erbstein as the briber. Surprise rose in Judge Brentine's court when the defense declined to cross examine Mrs McCutcheon and her daughter though the testimony was considered highly unfavorable to Erbstein.
