He also urges elastic national bank currency starting at 10 percent of capital rising to 50 percent with safeguards for insolvent banks. He argues parity will boost domestic commerce and aid US product sales abroad, urging presidential treasury and comptroller approval.

Denver officials jailed over tramway franchise dispute
Mayor R Wright Jr and eleven aldermen were sentenced to four months in jail for contempt after defying Judge Mullins injunction blocking a Denver City Tramway franchise ordinance. The group, including Tebbetts and Ross, will appeal while free on bonds. Stay granted for ten days to pursue appeal to the supreme court. The ordinance would authorize a twenty year franchise and a five cent fare across streetcar lines.

Oliver Reynolds, charged with kidnapping 14 year old Miss Julia Loser, daughter of farmer Jacob Loser, has been captured by Sheriff Erwin at Yorkville. He fled justice after absconding with her a year ago. Reynolds, a married man, deserted his family. They were captured with Reynolds in Ohio, Ind., and brought back, but he escaped. Embezzlement also charged locally.
