International Prisoner Sentence Commuted

Berlin April 2 Emperor William today commuted the sentence of Henry Schulthels of New York to two months. He had been sentenced July 20 to six months imprisonment by the military court of the Rhine-Hoana district for evading military service after going to the United States without valid exemption. He was arrested upon returning to his former home last June. The American embassy used its influence in his behalf.

Aged Claypool Man Dies in Indiana

Claypool Ind Aug 28 Reuben aged ninety two, longtime resident of the county, died at his home in Claypool after a long life of service. He was the father of Chariton V4 Vela, agent of the Nickel Plate railroad at Argos and longtime operator for the company in the area.
