Fort Wayne District Tops National Soldier Deployment List
The Fort Wayne district leads the nation in July soldier enlistments per war department figures with 230.10 percent of its quota through August 1. Portland, Indiana, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco follow, while Indianapolis ranks nineteenth. Capt. George S. Foden, a examining officer and camp sanitary expert, has been in the city this past week conducting medicals.

Kendallville Man Suffers Breakafter Brother Ordered to Fort Harrison
Worry over the departure of his brother Cistave Steckley who was detailed from Company D to join the Indiana artillery at Fort Benjamin Harrison caused Vincent Steckley to suffer a nervous breakdown while waiting to bid goodbye.
