Pittsburg August 16 The Standard Oil company today placed orders for a long pipeline from Halingis to Pittsburg six million dollars worth of pipe was ordered from National Tube company and a six million dollar contract for ditching and pipe laying awarded to a contractor of Bradford Pa McKeesport and Lorain will benefit as mills of the tube company locate in those towns The order is the largest steel pool job this year The pipeline runs from Hollamh Illinois to Coalgrave Bradford County Pennsylvania with twelve inch pipe and twenty four stations twenty miles apart The project will cost about a million more to lay and ditching work has started Only 390 men are at work now but will rise to thousands when pipe arrives It is required the contractor lay at least five miles of pipe per day The project will provide about four months of work for the mills and the workers provide good wages
