Frank J. Gruber, a cigar maker and longtime business figure in Indianapolis, died after a severe illness tied to asthma and dysentery. Born in Baden Germany on March 17 1836 he came to America at fifteen and built a successful shop at 480 Court Street then expanded to 824 Washington Avenue. He married Alice Charlotts Brins on August 24 1884 and survived by two sisters and a half brother. His funeral will be Sunday afternoon with services at his home and religious rites by the rector and local clergy.
