Government Wins Antitrust Case Over Northern Securities
Circuit ruled against Northern Securities Company and related firms in a sweeping decision under the Sherman Act. The court found that the Securities company used a Jersey charter to consolidate control of the Northern Pacific and Great Northern railways, blocking competition and restraining interstate commerce.
