Memorial to Peary at Ardington to be unveiled by daughter
Washington April 5 A unique memorial for Rear Admiral Robert Edwin Peary, discoverer of the North Pole, will be unveiled in Ardington tomorrow. The oblate granite earth mass rests on a base with engraved lines of land and water, a bronze North Pole star, and the Latin motto Inveniam Via Aut Faciam. The monument honors Peary and his wife Josephine Diebitsch Peary. The unveiling will be by their daughter, Edie Stafford, born near the pole during expedition days.
