J Francis General Passenger Agent of the Burlington Rents C.F and O RR advertises cheap tickets to the Far West and Northwest. He promotes special sleeping cars, party travel, and group bookings with pictures and low costs for long trips from Chicago.
In Van Wert county Ohio a trial opens for Ralph Hoover a farmer from Pleasant township charged with killing his young wife on January 10. The common pleas court hears witnesses with the state relying largely on circumstantial evidence. Sheriff H B Wilson undertaker B L Vore and three neighbors testified first.
Warsaw Indiana mayor B F Richardson forwarded relief checks to the Peru flood relief committees. A $19.10 check was sent to the Etna Green mayor and a $4.40 check was paid from Claypool. The funds covered provisions after flood relief purchases.
Samuel T. Murdock becomes sole owner of the Merchants' Electric Light association plant in Lafayette paying 123 a hundred for stock. He plans to merge Lafayette plans with Crawfords ville Light and Water, forming Indiana Service Company. The deal, the biggest in Lafayette history at 400000, keeps local lighting and heating operations ongoing.

London April 4 The chief secretary faces a difficult task shaping a new land purchase measure for Ireland amid financial strain from acts of 1903 and 1908. Proposals may raise British treasury outlays by about 40 million during the coming year, with funding yet unclear as to recovery.
In Kosciusko county voters across Syracuse Lake Wawasee area weighed wet versus dry liquor options, with the First precinct voting dry by nine and Third by twenty four while the Second favored wet by forty. Newcastle and Jackson township also show dry wins as saloon licenses face renewal and Foster Furniture promotes Go-Carts and baby carriages.

Edward Orso Hopkins aged 55 died today in Chicago after a two week illness. Born in Evansville Indiana he founded and led the Evansville Trust company and served as receiver for the Pearts Decatur and Evansville railroad. He also worked with the Evansville Terre Haute railroad and led the Schloss Schoffield Steel and Tron company of Birmingham Alabama until ten years ago. Burial will take place in Evansville.
Noblesville, Ind. prepared for a local option vote as campaign momentum shifts. Leaders from the Dry side claimed confidence while the Wet camp urged support. a saloon league official spoke at the courthouse lawn as preliminary results showed 109 dry and one wet votes.
ELWOOD Ind April 34 Temperance leaders show little interest in a local option vote this spring. Ministers interviewed favor some flirtation with May elections but the general sentiment is against moving on the salon issue soon. Foster Furniture Co in Fort Wayne urges local shoppers to buy there.
In New York April 3 plaintiffs in a suit against St Joseph Lead Company seek an accounting and restitution from Cryight A Jones and a list of officers for alleged mismanagement. The company mines at Bonne Terre Missouri and is described as a leading lead producer. The suit names president Jones and several executives as defendants.
During a April electrical storm in Warsaw a lightning strike hit a residence on Wayne Street causing the house to sustain major damage. A portion of a root win dérn felled, twenty five feet of wire torn, and a shelf broken. No injuries or additional damages reported. In a separate note a horse thief in nearby Korcusko confesses to recent thefts and implicates others as part of his admissions.
Dr FW Dene nie of this city has been named veterinary inspector at headquarters in Chicago. He will be stationed in Warsaw for several weeks before returning to his Gotten post.
Alfred Burdick of 423 Pearl Street found a purse containing $48 at Main and Ewing streets and returned it to Mrs. Sarah Kell of 535 West Superior. For honesty he received a $5 reward after the police verified the ownership.
