John Geisman cut an artery in his leg at Para gon Manufacturing and nearly bled to death before care. Charles Scharf fell and dislocated his shoulder blade on Madison street. William Conley injured his right hand at Foster furniture, with Dr Georges Stemen amputating two fingers.

Wabash Freight Train Wreck Near Fairfield Avenue

Wabash freight No. 97 westbound derailed near Fairfield Avenue as two coal cars and three merchandise cars left the track. About 20 workers cleared the line after four hours. several shop employees were injured including a foreman with a dislocated shoulder. John Cameron manager of the Northwestern National Insurance company was found unconscious at Quincy and LaSalle streets at 3 am. He was taken to the county hospital where doctors feared he would die. Police suspect he was assaulted by footpads in a city street attack.
