Skull of fossil beaver found near South Bend
A remarkable discovery near the Michigan line reveals the skull of a mammoth fossil beaver from the quaternary age. The 12 inch head measures six inches across, with two large incisors about nine inches long. Estimates place the animal’s weight at 350 to 400 pounds. The relic was secured by George A.
