Boston reports a large Chelsea fire early today with help requested from Boston. The blaze is controlled at an estimated loss of 25 000 dollars. One note mentions a scoundrel leaving partners with 180 000 in debts and a murderers sentence respited to embolden citizens.
A statement from Friend and Fox notes that $180,000 of the firm’s paper remained afloat and $40,000 was promptly paid. The partners pledge that the liabilities will be honestly met and handled in good faith.
Denver February news reports Edward M. Kelly, slated for execution, received a presidential respite to March 17. Citizens express anger at federal interference and potential unrest. extra jail guards have been deployed amid tense atmosphere.

A young man named James Jones is recovered from the Jacksons manufactory ruins in Chester. Firemen Kelly and Neal were injured. Reports say two or three kegs of powder arrived biweekly and as of Wednesday a 700 pound barrel was also on site with contents unknown.
Texas notes include George M. West buying 28 000 cattle and 140 000 acres for 600 000 dollars. A confrontation at Uvaldo left Sheriff Robb alive after a fatal clash with Walter Crane. Deputy Stevens wounded near San Antonio as Juan Garcia was killed. Northwest Texas floods rise with two bridges washed away on the Texas Pacific line between Weatherford and Fort Worth, halting travel.
