Telegraph report from Ottawa describes Liscombe a section boss on the St. Paul and Sioux City line who hurled himself before a moving freight train. He was about sixty, sober, and the father of a married daughter. He had been acting strangely for a day or two.
A Brownsville Texas dispatch reports Querino Gaetas a Mexican killer was hanged there yesterday for the August murder of Laz Conterros at a fandango near town. A large crowd of Mexicana and others witnessed Gaetas bravely die. He killed Conterros in cold blood and nearly shot the arresting policeman.
A Jackson fire at 8 yesterday morning wiped out the wholesale millinery stock of J. C. Richardson & Co. for about 8000 dollars and damaged the plating works of J. B. Timberlake for 5000. Wella & Fuller's hardware suffered 3000 dollars, E. H. Kidgley jewelry 1000. Building damage was extensive as the fire department struggled to save the interior.
John Brandt, a small-pox patient from Mulberry street, was moved to the pest-house but escaped at 5 a.m. He eluded guards, ran several blocks, and vanished with only a quilt. Residents fear spread, especially in nearby German quarters, as search efforts continue.
Telegraph reports from Corusmeus Indiana dated February 11 recounts Brown County adding two more bloody butcheries to its history. Jake Painter visited the residence of Thomas Robinson on Sunday in a grisly incident prompting investigations and public fear.

The ledger notes Loana decrease 9885000 specie 8390400 legal tender 855900 deposits 5674660 circulation 149600 reserve 5830650. Banks hold 4051475 in excess of legal requirements.
