Toledo February 11 The Commercial reports the Satarné Chase Swayne Company picture frame makers failed with speculation in real estate and falling goods prices blamed. Secretary reports a $30,000 loss last year and liabilities around $190,000.
Fire destroyed the old Asbury University building at Greencastle, housing the preparatory department, college museum, Whitcomb library, and the Asbury Cadets armory. Total loss estimated at 40,000 dollars.
London reports a complete Zulu victory over British forces amid heavy losses and widespread gravity in Britain as newspapers refrain from denying the catastrophe.
In Indianapolis on Feb 8 the Senate passed the interest bill 37 to 1 and introduced new measures including laborers lien proposals and tax reporting duties. House actions included approval of the apportionment bill and various companion items, with debate on drainage and public works and patient attention to local needs.
