Several wanted notices seek skilled workers, a hotel staff, and shop help with wage terms noted.
In the Shiawassee circuit court Joseph Butler was found guilty on his second trial for deceiving Minnie Randall a ten year old girl. The jury was out all night. Canton Ohio reports Mrs Jeane Vogelgesang died after a fifty one day fast from stomach cancer.
Justus Koehler aged forty three manager of the Hamburg Magdeburg fire insurance company on Pine street killed himself yesterday while riding in Central Park. Koehler connected with the Hamburg Magdeburg company twenty five years in Germany and took control of the business in the city in 1879. His accounts are said to be all right.
The Globe Democrat reports A. P. Lewis of Falls City Nebraska and four companions reached Wichita Kansas after being arrested in Oklahoma and expelled by Major Randall, Fort Reno. Randall seeks Captain Paine and a large band of colonists. capture would send the group to Fort Smith Arkansas.
Five thousand dollars reward offered after D H M Colvin, once of Columbus and superintendent for George Bragg & Co., was murdered near Coat Valley Pennsylvania by Mollie Maguires. He was shot four times with no clues to the killers, despite threats against him. The assault occurred Saturday night five miles from town.
Overtone reports a man named Kubelo pe Sereeee living at the Towa copie area was found with counterfeit dollars on his person. He allegedly attacked a man with a heavy bottle, causing serious injuries after a clash at a local jail area.
A fragmentary report notes alleged fraud in bond issuance. The council authorized bonds recently, amid unclear details and a state oversight concern. Further action or investigation is referenced as needed.
The Union Trust Company of New York allegedly negotiated the entire issue of bonds and drew over half the funds. In Davenbent, February 10, a German dancing-master Sahoor was killed during an attempted robbery five miles from town. He stopped in a ravine when two men demanded money. after he claimed no cash, one shooter fired twice, striking him in the spinal column and killing him instantly. A hay- wagon witness alerted authorities. Police hunt the killers. motive appears robbery.

Carno Illinois February 10 J T Merry excursion agent of the Illinois Central railroad led 200 Iowa bound travelers through town today en route to New Orleans.
A Fort Wayne woman named Clara Varnum confessed to stealing ten dollars from Robert Brown after working for Henry Brown. She had earlier fled Fort Wayne following rumors of a murder in Columbia City, but investigations showed the victim was alive with a man named Boyd. Sheriff Allwein arrested her in Fort Wayne and she faces up to a year in jail.

Neighbors of tailor Nicholas Heyer on Broadway intervened to stop him from beating his ten year old son. The man reportedly grabbed a club and struck the boy, leaving marks and fear. The child is motherless, with a 15 year old daughter assisting in the household.
Alfonso Giles and William Logan faced arraignment for assault and drunkenness after an incident at Wagner’s saloon near the south depot. Giles struck the pavement and was jailed after a pursuit by Officer Doyle. Logan fled and was later captured. Bail set Logan 11.76 dollars for twelve days. Giles 13.75 dollars for fourteen days. George Black and Benjamin Evans were fined 1.75 dollars each for drunkenness.
