In Sweetwater on October 26 commissioners from Tom Green Knox Foard Jones Reagan Irion Pecos Brewster Nolan Coke Fisher Stonewall passed a resolution urging a two thousand dollar per mile valuation for Orient Railway of West Texas for tax purposes. W T Kemper outlined reorganization funding needs and Mexican extension potential. The Nolan County action followed with others expected.

Dagmar Oakland, a stage actress, obtained a divorce from Garnette Rotan of New Haven Connecticut on grounds of desertion. Rotan, then an Army captain in France in 1919, cabled Oakland asking for marriage. she replied with a playful, Of course, silly.
