Government favors loan plan for Orient Road rail line
Clifford Histed testified at an Orient hearing that a tentative $1,000,000 government loan to the Kansas City Mexico Orient Rail Road and a $2,500,000 extension are approved for reorganization. He said funds would buy locomotives, boxcars, passenger cars, switches, and a new Wichita office, plus restoring rolling stock.
