Scouts seek support for Fort Stockton Troop 54 Jamboree trip
Pipe Lines notes Troop 54 of Fort Stockton plans to attend the National Jamboree west of Boy Scouts of America in Cour D'Alene Idaho this summer. Scoutmasters O L Bradley and Dwayne Sears lead the fundraising, facing hundreds to thousands in costs. Parents cover much, but contributions are welcomed by Bradley at 336 3265 or Sears at 336 2865.

Homestead Exemptions To Stay Under Study By County Officials
About 15 senior citizens pressed Pecos County Commissioners for details on a proposed $5,000 homestead exemption. The measure, passed in the November 1972 election, is tabled for one year pending study. Commissioner Moody warned that most homes could be removed from tax rolls, shifting burdens to others, while Gonzalez noted overall taxes are lower in the county with more parks.
