A 19-year-old Mexican laborer from Villa Acuña was struck dead by lightning Sunday afternoon while under a tent on John Robinson’s farm near Buena Vista. Six workers sheltered elsewhere were unharmed. an inquest returned an accidental death verdict. Rebelaz was transported to Fort Stockton for burial. the body was later sent to Villa Acuña. An injured coworker received hospital care. Sheriff Baker and Deputy McDurmon assisted in the investigation alongside Justice of the Peace Gay Hartman.

Mrs Finis Palmer Buck Palmer suffered serious burns to her arms and body when gasoline soaked clothing ignited as she attempted to burn a dead sheep at the George Atkins ranch northwest of Fort Stockton. She escaped by leaping into a nearby tank, received hospital care, and is now recovering at her sister Mrs Walter Butz's home.
