Rural Telephone Co operative Formed in Pecos County
A new rural telephone co operative was formed Friday in Pecos County to promote and finance telephone service for farms and ranches. The Trans Pecos Rural Telephone Co operative will recruit applicants, study affiliation with a larger 12 county group or a Fort Stockton area unit, and consider radio phone links for isolated ranches. A county wide committee was named and W T Posey appointed secretary treasurer. Twenty nine applications were filed. 5 dollar application fee plus up to 45 dollars more if San Angelo plan is adopted.

Graveside services for McKenzie infant held in Easthill Cemetery
Funeral services for Mary Ann McKenzie infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Bill Ed McKenzie of Bakersfield were held at 10 this morning. The Rev Casey Cantrell of the Methodist Church conducted the graveside rites at Easthill cemetery. The baby was born June 14 at Memorial Hospital and died June 15 at 7 10 am. She weighed five pounds eight ounces. Surviving are her parents a sister Barbara and grandparents Mrs Ann Sexton of Camp Hood Mrs Mary Lea McKenzie and Cleo McKenzie.

Roy A Bracker a Houston contractor has optioned land at the east edge of Fort Stockton on highways 290 and 67. Plans Accepted For Construction Of New Post Office

Automatic traffic light begins operation in Fort Stockton
The first automatic traffic control light in Fort Stockton started flashing Tuesday at Second and Nelson Streets. Costing 250 dollars, it was authorized by the City Council and is one of four lights ordered from the W. A Darling Company in Chicago.
