One of Pecos county's most interesting wildcat oil tests begins this week with Pure Oil Co as Harrison No. 1 in Chancellor starts cellar work and rig construction. The contract depth is 4000 feet, with 6000 feet if no commercial oil is found, in a 20000 acre Pure Oil block. Humble Oil also holds large acreage nearby and is drilling a deep test near the Pecos county line.
