A tip sparked a 12 hour search by Pecos County Sheriff DPS Fort Stockton PD and Texas Rangers locating two victims Felix Rodriguez 23 of Fort Stockton and Guadalupe Jimenez 24 Pecos shot to death near US 285 two miles northwest of Fort Stockton Police say at least 13 bullets struck the pair while shell casings from a .22 were found Autopsy planned Three suspects Reuben Hernandez Ramon Marquez Mata Jr and a juvenile girl are in custody in Tucson Arizona A car stop led to the arrest and a Jane Doe warrant for the escapee woman The juvenile implicated teams in the killings drugs alcohol suspected factor in the murders The suspects face two counts of capital murder and kidnapping involved Sheriff Larry Gibbs expects to bring them back soon as authorities search for the missing woman and recover more details

Warnock and Gibbs Win County Runoff Contests

In Saturday's Democratic Runoff Primary Charles Warnock won county judge 1964 to 1707 amid a heated campaign against Tillie Cook. Larry Gibbs defeated Mike Hill for sheriff 2385 to 1297 after a split first round, with Hill closing the gap from 961 to 1297. Ralph D. Gillette captured Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Place 2 with 1714 votes to Joe Chavez's 1381. Truman Grove won a close race in Fort Stockton Precinct 7 after strong showings in Imperial areas.

Grove wins Pecos County in tight Railroad Commissioner race

In Pecos County precincts, Grove edges Gutierrez 650 to 458 with a 58.66 percent share overall. Grove dominates Imperial 163 to 47 and Cayanosa 34 to 6, plus 206 to 149 in absentees. Poerner secures statewide win over Sadler with 70.61 percent locally in Pecos County and a strong show across the state.

Chris Gerron joined as photographer, following Gilbert Mesa’s departure, while Susan Baker Danny Dixon and Jacob Primera work full or part time.
