Senate Adopts Suffrage Resolution Heads to State Legislatures
The U S Senate approved the woman suffrage amendment by 56 to 25 and sent it to state legislatures for ratification. Support came from 36 Republicans and 20 Democrats, with 17 Democrats and 8 Republicans opposing.
