The Fort Stockton school board calls a 1.6 million dollar bond election for June 11 to fund a new elementary school and major improvements. Onion harvest in Fort Stockton area jumps two weeks ahead of 1965 as three truckloads depart Tuesday from a new 87 by 177 foot steel packing shed on Santa Fe Rail property. Built by W. J. Thiel & Son, McManus Produce Co. and DeBruyn Texas Produce Co. the shed supports 30 to 40 workers inside and 150 in fields and trucking. Prices fall with market lows. yellows 1.75 to 2.50 per bag, whites 3.50 to 3.75. Total Trans Pecos acreage ~1000 with two Pecos sheds handling Reeves county and Cayanosa area.

Diplomas and awards were presented Friday night to members of the class of 1966 at Fort Stockton High School. Among 103 candidates the largest class in history, 98 diplomas were awarded with five more candidates for later diplomas. County Growers Vote Yes on Allotment Sales
Pecos County cotton growers and land leasees voted 147 to 64 in favor of permitting transfer of upland cotton allotments. Voting occurred May 16 to 25 via available methods. Statewide results and effective year require further approval by margin.
