Steers Sold in Crockett County Deal With White Baker Co
White, Baker & Co received 1400 steers last week from Crockett County buyers. Average prices ranged from 25 dollars for yearlings to 35 to 40 dollars for two and three year olds. Sellers included Victor Pierce, Joe Pierce, Tom Smith, Co. C. Montgomery, John Bailey and others. Deliveries were made at the Pecos river bridge near Sheffield and the cattle were moved to the firm’s ranch east of Fort Stockton.

Pioneer Ranchman Dies at Fort Davis in Lone Star West
George W. Gleim pioneer ranchman of Jeff Davis County died at his Fort Davis home after a few days illness. He helped form Gleim Brothers to develop Study Butte silver mines and owned large ranch interests with J. W. Espy. He served as Fort Davis State Bank director and was president of the local Chamber of Commerce. He will be buried in Fort Davis Cemetery after relatives are advised.
