Democrats Close Sebastian Campaign With Greenwood Rally
A Greenwood rally drew about 3,000 Democrats with three brass bands from Charleston Greenwood and Port Sails. A registrar sat at a ballot table guarded by armed guards, voters challenged by politics, and some deemed unfit were remove by bayonet. A cavalcade of fifty young women in black and gold led the procession. Mayor Brown welcomed attendees, Col J B Forrester spoke, and Judge J S Little delivered an eloquent address before candidates spoke.
