Secretary of State announces a Florida general election to ratify or reject amendments to the state constitution. Election day is the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, November 3, 1908, with votes to be entered in legislative journals.
A legislative joint resolution proposes amending Section Nine of Article Five to fix salaries for supreme court justices and circuit judges, to be submitted at the next general election. It also covers a Section Sixteen tax provision for supporting state universities and colleges, with a one mill levy. The document notes adoption steps and dates, including approval by electors and the 1908 general election. It is signed by Secretary of State H. Clay Crawford in Tallahassee on July 25, 1908.
