A social item records Mr. Matt Conrad as guest and Miss Mary Quirk along with Mrs. Frank Murphy achieving high bridge scores during a Christmas gathering.
Snytton consolidated school hosts a Monday evening program at 8 p.m. featuring a 152 voice choir with second and sixth grade students under Ray Wallace. The program includes narrations by Kay Steflin and Kay Heflin, performances of Christmas songs, and a community sing as part of Part IV A Visit From St Nick by Clement Clarke Moore.
Christmas gatherings filled Barnum on December 16 as Birth day day members held their annual party at Mrs. Elmer Quade’s home. Officers were elected and a delicious supper was served. Mrs. Carl Nash hosted a Bridge club event with husbands. high score went to Elmer Baker, second to Mrs. Lawrence Siegel, and low to Vincent Harty. A Christmas exchange and Lynch were part of the evening.
The Past Noble Grands Grace Circle held a regular meeting and Christmas party at the LO.C.F. hall in Fonda Dev 10. Nine teen members enjoyed a 12 80 o clock potluck dinner. Mrs. E. F. Gottfried presided over the business session. Social hour followed with gift exchanges and mystery pals gifts.
Humboldt December 16. Members of the Methodist Sunday school donated 202 pounds of confections for the Navaho Indian mission at Farmington New Mexico. In years when sugar and sweets were scarce the children were willing to go without.
Mr and Mrs Joseph Oinet entertained the Barnum rural mail carriers and their wives at a Christmas party at their home. Twenty four members attended with guests including Mr and Mrs Earl Nash of Barnum and Mrs Mill Ohern of Fort Dodge.
A potluck and bridge night hosted by Christina featured overseas gifts and high score for Santa Claus's pianagan. Mrs. Harold Blizzard, Mrs. Card, and others arranged Xmas decor at Barnum and other homes. Mixed choruses, solos, and dessert auditorium programs followed, with high scores awarded to Kelly and others. Schools were presented in Fonda as the season continued.
