Carey outlines new courts and crime measures in Forest Park
Illinois State Attorney Bernard Carey spoke to the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce on October 11. He highlighted reforms since 1972 to speed trials by more felony courts in Cook County and suburbs, aimed at reducing crime by removing repeat offenders and speeding justice. He endorsed limited plea bargaining in select cases and noted a rise in workers compensation pressures. The chamber and village will fund Christmas decorations for Madison Street and expand the board from 15 to 21 directors.
