Contribution charges dismissed by state
The Illinois Liquor Control Commission voted 21 to dismiss charges against 21 Schiller Park liquor licensees who contributed $50 each to state Rep. Edward Bluthardt in 1972. The commission said the gifts violated the law but were made in good faith and not knowingly. Bluthardt called it an unfortunate first fundraiser and said he repaid all contributors.

The World retracts its assertion that McGaffer’s lounge at 7737 W Roosevelt Rd was raided by the FBI. Federal agents searched an apartment above the lounge, not the premises. We regret the error.
