Pioneer family honored by Minnesota Historical Society
Blanche Kos recalls her father Charles Kratochvil as one of Minnesota's 10 pioneer families honored for settling the state. Immigrating from Prague in 1908 and arriving in 1912 with 27 families, he built a homestead on land near Waskish, endured log and sod housing, and helped develop a curriculum unit on the immigrant experience for schools.
