Forest Park P T A forms committees in special session

The Forest Park Parent-Teacher Council met at Garfield school on Monday September 20 with Mrs Curtis as chair. They appointed committees including Program Hospitality Parent Education Arrangements Publicity and Child Welfare and listed their members. A future schedule covered October and November events with dates for Garfield Field Stevenson Benny Ross Grant White and Barn dances. The next meeting is set for October 4 at 8 o clock in Garfield school.

Seventh Son Born to Mannings Sun

Mr and Mrs Joseph N Manning welcome a son born Sunday at 9 am weighing nine pounds named Arthur Thomas Manning. The Manning family now has seven living members all born in the village. Mother and baby are doing well. Manning is a South Side barber with a shop on Harvard Street for 17 years.

Baby dies in freak crash near Forest Park

An infant girl, Marget Craig, died after a car crash on Hamlet Avenue near Adams Street in Forest Park. The twin daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Craig was struck in her mother's lap when a car driven by Davis stopped to avoid a dog. She died two hours later at Oak Park Hospital from a fractured skull.

Gustave Hahn Killed at Rail Crossing

Gustave Hahn a 48 year old truck driver was killed when his lumber truck was struck by a railroad train at Page Avenue Chosning in Lisnsdale. He lived at 14 Lathe Avenue and worked for Bard and Culling Panthern Company of Foy Park. The wreckage destroyed the truck and crane car and a crowd gathered at the scene.
