Forest Park Condo Association drives village council meeting
About 100 condo owners packed the Forest Park Village Council meeting to back president John Mayer as he urged equal tax and service treatment with homeowners. Mayor Mohr, reasserting in principle support, cited inequities in garbage removal funding versus tax bills and set October 7 for a resolution. Mayer called condo owners individual owners paying higher taxes, not renters, seeking parity. Mohr, as state senator, supported rate adjustments to resemble single-family residences.

Seriously Injured In Cleaning Plant Blast
Terry Reda twenty six of 1041 Circle remained unconscious at Loyola Hospital after a Friday blast at Oak Leaf Laundry caused extensive facial and head injuries. Reda stood beside a drum of cleaning fluid in an enclosed truck when the explosion occurred. He was rushed to Loyola by a Fire Department ambulance. Mayor Howard Mohr praised the rapid response and Loyola’s emergency team. Reda is part of the family that operates the cleaning plant.
