Proviso High began a new year with 1,087 pupils and 54 faculty plus women. Principal J.T. Thali led a ceremonial start with poems, prayers, and announcements. Thirteen new teachers join, including supervisors in English and math, while several veterans return to resume duties as enrollment nears 1,100.

A Ford sedan was awarded to Mrs. Dole Shuler for selling the winning parade entry as exhibitors reported brisk business and crowds gathered around the automobile show.
The German Baptist general secretary Rev Kuhn will depart Great Park Sunday and sail on the SS Frederick the Eighth for a two month business trip through European countries. Petrine Pedersen wife of Ulgeln OQ Nansen died Monday September 3 after more than a year ill. Born August 2 38782 in Dene mirk she married Charles Mauien and had children Llorbert Chirlex Bind Kunend. Services Tuesday afternoon at Forest Home burial followed by Butler Chapter O B S and longtime residence in Wanxenklave Yvert Mores Park family sorrowed by friends.
The couple Mabel Lithia and Lawrence Itailey quietly wed in Chicago on September 2 with a wedding planned for October 7 at the bride’s home. They surprised friends by eloping and now plan to reside with the bride’s parents while preparations for the elaborate celebration continue.

Josh Puetz former owner of the Sanitary Meat Market invites shoppers to the Madison Street location today Saturday Sept 2. Upefol souvenirs will be given and Puetz, who previously ran a market in the same area, aims to offer high grade merchandise in the new Blain Market building.
