New Voting Machine Demonstrated Ahead of November Election

Editorial notes a demonstration of the new Votomatic electronic voting device to be used by suburban Cook County voters in November except Berwyn and Cicero. County Clerk Stanley Kusper will educate 1.2 million voters with 12,000 election workers, banks, libraries, and the League of Women Voters aiding in a broad educational outreach before public demonstrations are announced.

Oktoberfest 76 final meeting before festival kickoff

The final Oktoberfest meeting before the festival will be held Wednesday September 15 at the VFW Hall 424 Desplaines. Starting time 6 p.m. All participating organizations must attend for last instructions and to ask questions. The festival runs September 24 to 26 with a noon food tent opening and a parade at 1 30 p.m.

He and his wife Linda have two children and an adjusted gross income of 27286 with 5116 paid in federal and state taxes. Seniors to Receive Free Swine Flu Shots in Forest Park

Senior citizens 65 and older in Forest Park will get free swine flu shots on October 11 at the Community Center at Desplaines Avenue and Jackson Boulevard. 500 doses are allocated, administered through Otto DiAngelo’s Proviso Township office. advance sign up via Virginia Stetler at the Center, 771-7737. Volunteers to assist on October fifth are sought through Mrs. Stetler.

Voter Registration Ends Sept 19 in Forest Park Villages

Mayor Howard Mohr announces registration closes Sept 19 in village halls for the Presidential election. Unregistered voters may sign up at Village Mall, 517 Desplaines Ave, during business hours, or at the Cook County Clerk's Loop office until Sept 27. Special Registration Day on Oct 5 in each precinct. Absentee and incapacitated ballots available after early September. Call 443-5666 for further details.

The REVIEW reports the annual Forest Park Aerie 1344 Fraternal Order of Eagles picnic will be held this Sunday September 12 starting at 10 a.m. with food music dancing bingo and various attractions. An earlier date error is apologized for.

Forest Park received $175 628 in state revenue sharing for the fiscal year 1976 ending June 30. The Illinois Department of Local Government Affairs announced the amount, up 11 1/2 percent from last year’s $157,374. Distribution based on population. 1970 census set Forest Park’s population at 15,472.
