I R Harris of Forest Lions uly and manager of the Greater Forest Park Celebration was contracted to manage the world tour for Ambrose Wyrick Chicago tenor. The tour starts in late October and lasts one and a half years with an orchestra, visiting fifty six entries.
Pupils crowd Provise High as enrollment reaches 2053 students, up 17 percent from last year. Seniors total 325, an increase of 60, forcing staggered start times and converted spaces. Michael Brisch a former Forest Park commissioner now living in River Vere initiates an orphanage project in Reil Germany. A stone laying ceremony was delayed due to weather but Brisch’s envoy read a letter from Rev William Fo Buch at the corner stone. The effort plans a four story stone and concrete building about 80 by 90 feet named St John’s Home in honor of Mr Brisch with government support and a $20,000 personal contribution.
Prohibition officers and Forest Park police staged three stills in Forest Park and two in Forest Avenue neighborhoods, destroying a large quantity of sugar and abaterdals. The 1025 Hannah Avenue scene housed a two story structure with kitchens full of equipment and a large sugar supply. Police described heavy gear, venting, and multiple stills. workmen claimed they were present to do their job. Neighbors reported extensive activity as the raid unfolded with arrests and transport to the West jail, while nearby residences appeared abandoned or emptied. The operation prompted mayoral involvement and coordination with federal agents in Chicago the following day.
The South Side Boosters held a Thursday gathering to discuss local events. They planned a parade participation for the Greater Foren Mark Celebration and reorganized meeting days under President Lonute J. Hraith with secretary Joseph utter banecretary noting several members present.
