Young Boy Electrocuted by TV Set in Tragic Incident
Ten year old William Gearen of 7416 Warren was killed adjusting a TV antenna when a voltage leak in the set sent 110 volts through him. He was sitting on a radiator, crashed through a front room window, and died after failing to regain consciousness at Oak Park Hospital.

Excavating Truck Overturns on Eisenhower Ramp
A Tuesday morning mishap on the westbound entry ramp to the Eisenhower Expressway at Desplaines Avenue caused an excavating tandem trailer to overturn. Firefighters washed down diesel, Officer Michael Thompson managed traffic until State Police arrived, and the driver, at the Roosevelt Road postal facility site, said a load shift caused the turn. No injuries were reported.
