Eagles Auxiliaries Aid Children At La Rabida Benefit
Eagles Auxiliary led annual drive for La Rabida Hospital benefiting children with rheumatic fever and heart disease. The Hillside Theatre film narrated by Joey Bishop boosted donations totaling 801.09 in a week August 22 to 28. President Charlotte Haselow and Civic Service Chair Sylvia Pfeiffer thank supporters.

Proviso East Names New Varsity Basketball Coach
Glenn H. Walttenberg, longtime Proviso East athletic staffer since 1962, is named varsity basketball coach succeeding Tom Millikin who becomes administrative assistant to the superintendent. Walttenberg brings fifteen years coaching experience with no losing seasons and has served as East’s sophomore basketball coach and head freshman football coach in fall sports. He is a Southern Illinois University alumnus with a BS degree earned in 1953 and has pursued graduate work at Illinois, Illinois State, Western Michigan, and Chicago Teachers College.
